Julington Creek is the common name of the area on the south banks of Julington Creek—a large creek that connects to the St. Johns River. The largest neighborhood in the area is Julington Creek Plantation, which is known for its outstanding schools, youth sports, and golf. It is considered to be one of the top areas for families in Northeast Florida.
Julington Creek Plantation is a well-designed master planned community in which Race Track Road bisects the area running east and west. The neighborhoods are diverse and range from townhomes in the low $100’s to larger estate homes over $1,000,000. The development first started in the mid 1980’s so much of the landscape is very mature providing for a beautiful streetscape.
Julington Creek is home to the best school system in the state of Florida and one of the best in the nation. Julington Creek is also part of the Census District of “St. Johns” which also includes Switzerland and Fruit Cove. Upscale overall, the St. Johns community supports many golf courses, retail shops, boutiques, and mansions, along with protected marshlands and protected wetlands that draw visitors and intrigue residents.
