How long have you been in home building/real estate and what made you decide to choose this profession?
I began my career real estate in 2011. I never regret my decision for a moment. I love this business because it’s a people business. Over the past seven years, I have always tried to look at the process from both the buyer’s and seller’s perspective. This has really given me a healthy respect and appreciation for the amount of work and dedication it takes to find someone their the perfect home. It’s not just about me or them – it’s a collaborative effort with both clients and realtors to help them build the home of their dreams.
What would you say is the most important thing to keep in mind when looking for a new home?
Once you’ve figure out where you want to live, the next step is to find a community best suited to your lifestyle and your long-term needs. While nothing is forever, thinking like this is the last home you’ll ever build will help you set your priorities. Of course, finding a builder that will take the time to work with you to make your vision a reality is a big piece of the puzzle.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in new home sales?
I’d say that it’s not so much about selling as it is understanding. That understanding comes from learning to ask the right questions of prospective homebuyers. Once you’ve asked the questions, really listen to the answers. Only then can you understand their short-term and long-term needs. And only then can you place clients in the perfect sites and the perfect Shearwater floor plans.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Being a mom of three active boys, I love the outdoors and work hard to introduce my family to a healthy lifestyle. I love selling new homes in Shearwater because the community promotes the kind of healthy, outdoor living that I share with my boys.
