As the premier semi-custom home builder in Northeast Florida, MasterCraft Builder Group relies on our team members to continue providing expert craftsmanship to each MasterCraft home. With this, MasterCraft is excited to announce the recent appointment of Kris Cook as the company’s Vice President of Construction. In his role, Kris is responsible for the day-to-day construction operations, including working with homebuilders and vendors and ensuring that the home is exactly what our client envisioned before handing over the keys.
Kris has over 20 years’ of experience in the construction industry; he previously worked with a national homebuilder known for custom single-family homes, townhomes and courtyard homes. He started as a builder, then worked his way up to Lead Builder and Senior Builder before being hired as a Construction Coach. “As a Construction Coach, I was responsible for training all new builders and warranty hires in the Jacksonville, Nashville and Raleigh markets,” explained Kris. “From there, I took over the Construction Manager Position overseeing the Atlanta market before joining MasterCraft as the Vice President of Construction.”
With industry-wide experience, Kris received his General Contractors license in both Florida and Arkansas and has been in the construction industry for more than 20 years in the Florida, Georgia, Arkansas and Texas markets. Fun fact, for a short stint that Kris wasn’t in the construction industry, he worked as Brewing Process Manager for MillerCoors Brewing Company for eight years.
When it comes to how he discovered MasterCraft, Kris has his brother to thank for that. “My brother Ken Cook is also a builder for MasterCraft Homes,” Kris said. “He joined the team earlier in the year, and one day I got a phone call saying, ‘Hey, there’s an opening. Are you interested?’ The rest is history.”
Building with MasterCraft
Here at MasterCraft, we believe in the power of choice. That’s why our semi-custom floorplans give you the flexibility to choose the home that’s right for you. “MasterCraft provides homeowners with personalization and customization for their home,” explained Kris. “Whether they’re looking to add an outdoor kitchen and pool or just want a different style of crown molding, MasterCraft provides choice when it comes to a client’s individual needs.”
Craftsmanship comes standard in every MasterCraft home with each home crafted with only the highest quality tools and expert craftsman. “We use higher-end construction materials that offer more variety than what you may see in a traditional new construction home,” Kris said. “One of my favorite things about MasterCraft is the personalization that each homeowner has rather than a typical ‘cookie-cutter’ builder.”
Working at MasterCraft
When you join the MasterCraft team, you’re joining a family. “It’s just a fantastic community here,” Kris told us. “Once you become part of the team, you really are family, and that to me is the most important. We all like to work hard, but we all like to have fun and enjoy each other’s company just as well. I have no plans of going anywhere; my goal is to retire with MasterCraft and be here for a long time until that day comes.”
Kris currently lives in Neptune Beach, Florida with his wife of almost 25 years. He has two daughters; Emory, a sophomore at the University of Central Florida, and Cameron, a Senior at Fletcher High School. When he’s not hard at work, Kris said that he enjoys golfing, fishing and riding his bike to local restaurants to grab dinner.
