We asked Brandon Ravan, the New Home Consultant in Villages of Valencia, what are some top reasons St. Augustine is such a great place to live. Here’s what he had to say.
• Beautiful Beaches
The first thing to mention is the gorgeous white sand! There is a lot of variety as well – you can spend the day at unspoiled Anastasia Island or at they idyllic State Parks or you can soak up the sun at one of the many public beaches in walking distance to some amazing restaurants. Vehicles are allowed on the beaches at Porpoise Point and A Street, making a day at the beach that much easier!
• St.Augustine Pier
On Wednesdays there is a farmers market in the morning and the Music by the Sea series in the evenings through September. The pier also offers great fishing and a nice splash park for kids.
• The Food!
A big seafood town, some of the local favorites include O’steens, Schooner’s and Barnacle Bills. Some other favorite’s include Pizzalley’s and the Chianti Room downtown. Or if you’ve got a sweet tooth, the cinnamon rolls at Theo’s are amazing!
• St. Augustine Amphitheater
We love the St. Augustine Amphitheater! Big name acts perform in a more intimate atmosphere than larger arenas. Upcoming acts include: Widespread Panic on Oct. 5th; Earth, Wind & Fire on Oct. 11th; and Heart on November 8th. A December to Remember brings old-fashioned Christmas to town with free drive-in movies, concerts and food drives. Enjoy culture from Handel’s Messiah in St Augustine to family Christmas classics like Charlie Brown’s Christmas!
