Amber Warner has always been passionate about building forever homes. With 16 years in the industry, she prides herself on developing trustworthy relationships with our homebuyers. She recently answered a few questions for us, revealing her diverse professional background, love of the outdoors, and dedication to the University of Georgia Bulldogs.
Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Davie, Florida, just minutes from the beach. Like any native south Floridian, my playgrounds were the ocean and the Everglades – my very first camping trip was at two weeks old! I grew up spending weekends either in the swamp on airboats, ATVs, and swamp buggies or in the ocean, exploring my love of boating and scuba diving.
So how did you end up living in St. Augustine?
I came to St. Augustine 16 years ago on vacation – I never wanted to leave! I was captivated by the history, outdoor lifestyle, and small-town feel. Only a few short months later, my family and I were residents. We’ve never looked back.
What made you want to join the building industry?
Shortly after graduating college, my stepdad and I started renovating houses together. That is when my passion for construction began. I was mesmerized by the entire process of creating a forever home.
What was your career like before joining MasterCraft?
I began my professional career working for one of the top roofing companies in the nation, purchasing materials, bidding, and acting as both project coordinator and office manager. A few years later, I was recruited by a national building supplier. I quickly rose through the ranks, from office administrator to delivery service manager, with a few stops in between. I really learned the ins and outs of building materials, installation, and all the paperwork that goes with it. My final stop before MasterCraft was at a national home builder as a Senior Warranty Representative, where I was frequently recognized for my superior service.
How long have you worked for MasterCraft?
I’ve worked for Mastercraft for two years – time flies when you’re having fun!
What does a Senior Warranty Manager do?
As the Senior Warranty Manager, I created and fine-tuned the warranty process for MasterCraft. The warranty process involves attending multiple walk-throughs of every home with the builders, other warranty team members, and, most importantly, the buyers. My job is not just quality control; it’s building relationships with the buyers and showing them how to get the most out of their new homes. I recognize and fix issues, teach new homeowners how to operate key components, and ensure they properly register for important warranties and service agreements. I always want to do the right thing and provide excellent customer service to every homeowner – that’s how I train my team.
Why do you enjoy working with MasterCraft?
I value the teamwork and the overall care everyone puts into the job. The MasterCraft family doesn’t just build houses; they build community. I enjoy being able to focus on producing quality products with our partners and for our homeowners, many of whom become like family.
What do you enjoy about working with founder Chris Shee and President Brad Shee?
Chris and Brad care about their employees and customers. They make us feel like one big family. I also appreciate their commitment to our community. They are passionate about giving back through philanthropy projects and charitable work.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I love spending quality time with my family. We love to cook together and enjoy creating new dishes at home. I am a foodie that loves traveling. I keep a food journal, and when I have a phenomenal meal at a restaurant, I write it down as a memory from the trip. I also love being outdoors, whether at the beach, kayaking, or boating.
Who is your favorite college sports team?
My family and I travel a few times a year during football season to watch the University of Georgia Bulldogs play. We either visit their home stadium in Athens, Georgia, or travel to a new city for a game!
