When you think of awards season, the Grammy’s, Oscar’s and Tony’s may come to mind, but for the new home construction industry ours is all about the Parade of Homes, and today we’re talking about the St. Johns Builder’s Council Parade of Homes.
The Parade of Homes features new homes and models built in St. Johns County’s new home communities. It allows the public to tour through the homes to see what each builder and community offers. A panel of judges walks through each home and gives a score. Judges are picked because of their knowledge in the building, construction and home sales experience.
This year, there were three, yes THREE, MasterCraft Builder Group homes entered in the Parade of Homes. The three entries were the:
- Egret Florida Farmhouse model home at Shearwater
- Thomas Plus model home at Oxford Estates
- Country Series I – 2713 model home at RiverTown
Technically there were four entries, but since the Spoonbill Florida Bungalow inventory home in Shearwater wasn’t quite complete when judging took place, it was not eligible to receive an award. Check it out here.
So, on August 11th, a panel of three judges sauntered through each of our entered homes looking over every aspect with a detailed eye. We knew they’d love our homes and were very excited to showcase such a wide-ranging line of home designs to the judges.
Since then we’ve anxiously been waiting for the results! They keep them hush hush until the Awards Banquet, which was late week after being rescheduled due to Hurricane Hermine…and we have some super exciting news to share!
We came home with TWO winners! We dominated one category where the Egret Florida Farmhouse home won Gold and the Thomas Plus won Silver! We couldn’t be more excited about the performance of our homes and how well the hard work and dedication of our amazing team comes through each home we build. Our homes are built to a higher standard to include a variety of things, such as oversized bedrooms, solid wood cabinets with dovetail construction and soft-close drawers and doors, granite countertops and so much more.
